History & Philosophy:

Ding’s Custom Cycle – a mobile business that hits the road June 1, 2012, for Laconia, N.H. and many spots headed back toward the West – started as a land-based business in Dubois, WY. After two decades in the U.S. Marines, Ding came home to the land his family has lived and worked on for generations and chased his dream.

After a few years of building custom motorcycles from the ground up he took a break.

After meeting H.J. “Holly” Wolcott, the pair decided to take Dings Custom Cycle on the road. This time, they will offer riders at rallies and elsewhere across the country oil changes with Red Line Oil, tire changes with many national brands available, minor repairs, recovery from breakdown locations far and wide, motorcycle detailing and some cool T-shirts.

We are a biker’s service business – our motto is honesty, integrity, a solid reputation, and guaranteed no-bull work – these are the traits on which this business stands.

Our primary goal is to allow affordability to the motorcycle owner. We will work with or for you in order to meet your needs.

Background:

Don is a fifth-generation, native Wyomingite. He started riding Harley Davidson motorcycles when he was 17 (ahem, 30 years ago!). His family has ranched in Wyoming for the better part of 100 years, and the underlying theme of this operation is “From Horses to Horsepower” – based on the family’s history with Morgan horses. Morgans, like Harleys, are all-American.

Holly is a Colorado native and is a descendent of Oliver Wolcott, a signer of the Declaration of Independence. She spent 17 years as a crime reporter, most recently for the Los Angeles Times. She’s been a motorcycle owner and passenger on and off for 30 years.
